- To foster cooperative efforts among members on information and resources sharing.

- To unite foster, develop and maintain close cooperation and coordination between and among the members;
- To extend assistance to any member, upon latter's request consistent with NORMINSA policies and capabilities;
- To recommend and assist on how to improve shipping services and conditions in order to achieve efficient transport of goods to its destinations at a competitive cost;
- To represent the members in their collective dealings with transport providers, the government and other organizations.
