Addressing Mindanao shippers concerns. Atty. Oscar Sevilla, Philippine Ports Authority general manager, addresses delegates of the 6th Mindanao Shipping Conference (MINSHIPCON) in Davao City, where he announced the re-activation of the National Port Advisory Council (NPAC), with a slot reserved for the Mindanao Federation of Shippers Association (MINFESA) to the national council. He added that Mindanao has a special place in the development agenda of the government and the PPA, which is committed to improving Mindanao port services. The two-day event, which was attended by 200 shipping industry delegates, was organized by MINFESA and supported by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao Program. (GEM) |

Undersecretary Virgilio Leyretana, chair of the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo), receives the 6th Mindanao Shipping Conference (MINSHIPCON) resolutions and action agenda from Mr. Vic Lagdamen, Jr., president of the Mindanao Federation of Shippers Association (MINFESA), during the 6th Mindanao Shipping Conference (MINSHIPCON) in Davao City. The resolutions include the improvement of cargo handling services, new port development and policies, and positions on shipping services and inter-modal support facilities. The two-day Conference with the theme “Efficient Shipping and Transport Towards Global Competitiveness,” was organized by MINFESA and supported by USAID’s Growth with Equity in Mindanao Program.
